Strategic Materiality Assessment & CDP Disclosure Support for JBS Foods USA

Project Details:

JBS Foods USA is an American food processing company and a wholly owned subsidiary of the multinational company JBS S.A. As part of a team hired by JBS Foods USA to amplify JBS, Seara, and Pilgrim’s sustainability efforts, KERAMIDA led the task of refreshing their existing list of material topics in order to understand how stakeholder expectations had shifted with recent disruptive events. 

Strategic Materiality Assessment:

KERAMIDA strategically convened key stakeholders into small focus groups and facilitated discussions about:

  • The significance of the impacts of existing topics

  • How impact significance may have changed in the past 6 months due to disruptive events, such as COVID

  • The emergence of new topics not on the existing list, and their significance

Outcomes from this task were used to:

  • Inform the adoption of key SDGs that are meaningful to stakeholders

  • Review, and revise if needed, 2030 goals, ensuring they remain relevant and communicated in the proper context

  • Establish plans for managing performance on emerging topics

CDP Disclosure Support:

KERAMIDA’s sustainability consultants helped JBS USA with its preparation and disclosure to CDP, including mock scoring JBS USA’s CDP submission.
