Landfill Projects

KERAMIDA served as the Turnkey General Manager for this multimillion-dollar project. The City of Indianapolis was interested in finding a new purpose for the old landfill to benefit the neighborhood. The City hired KERAMIDA to plan the repurpose, remediate the landfill, and manage the reuse construction activities. The result is a beautiful park, with an acre and a half children’s playground.

KERAMIDA has provided site investigation, remediation, groundwater sampling and analysis, operation & maintenance, and reuse planning for the TSL Superfund Site.

KERAMIDA decreased the cost of operation and maintenance tor this closed landfill by managing the project more efficiently and through the use of new technologies.

KERAMIDA developed designs to remediate issues associated with erosion and slope instability. An innovative design using HydroTurf® Z was implemented and was the first application of HydroTurf® Z in Indiana.

The Clean Fill Site mistakenly accepted contaminated material from a construction site, and KERAMIDA was contracted to ensure excavation and sampling activities were correctly performed at the landfill.

KERAMIDA used the LFGcost-Web Model, created by the U.S. EPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP), to model landfill methane gas generation and payback of multiple methane use options, including boiler retrofit, standard reciprocating engine generator (RICE), microturbine generator, and small RICE.

KERAMIDA assisted the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) with a range of environmental services over several years to facilitate the sale of a property and development by Infosys Limited (Infosys). The property consisted of former surface parking areas, rental car facilities, and a multi-level parking garage for the old airport. The rental car facilities included two active LUST facilities along with other previously closed UST and LUST facilities.
