Science-Based Targets Setting for Largest Marine Chassis Provider in U.S.

Goal: Set Science Based Targets to Reduce Carbon Footprint

As the largest marine chassis provider in the United States, this Client offers best-in-class solutions to the intermodal and commercial trucking industries. Supporting motor carriers, beneficial cargo owners, freight forwarders, ocean carriers, railroads, and intermodal terminals, this Client is committed to environmentally-friendly equipment, processes, and business practices.

KERAMIDA worked with this Client to set Science Based Targets (SBTs) to reduce its carbon footprint, gain investor confidence, be resilient against potential regulations, and maintain a competitive edge. KERAMIDA supported the Client in all phases of setting their SBTs by performing the following tasks:

  1. Determined what Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) sector the Client fell under

  2. Submitted a Letter of Commitment to SBTi

  3. Established an accurate carbon inventory

  4. Developed a Science Based Target for the needed reductions per SBTi guidance

  5. Validated, communicated, and implemented the target

At the end of the project, KERAMIDA provided a final report that included recommendations on how to engage operations in any necessary adjustments needed for meeting the SBTs.
