Project Details:

Serving as a sub-consultant to CHA, KERAMIDA completed the following tasks:

  • KERAMIDA planned and facilitated an interactive Virtual Idea Sprint attended by over 100 guests. During the event, feedback on topical areas related to sustainability was solicited from the participating contractors using Zoom’s chat feature. The feedback was captured for the Project Team's subsequent discussions.

  • KERAMIDA planned and facilitated a Virtual Sustainability Design Charette for the IAA and the Project’s Design Team. Over the course of two hours, four digital whiteboards representing four of Envision’s thematic areas were provided to 22 participants for their contributions of over 200 sustainability practices that could be considered for project implementation.

  • KERAMIDA developed a Special Provision for Environmental Sustainability to accompany the Set of Design Specifications for the Project. In this specification, environmental sustainability is used as an organizing framework for additional sustainability goals for the Project, which include:

    • Reduce GHG emissions

    • Minimize potable water use

    • Minimize lighting impacts

    • Use materials that reduce the extraction of resources and use of harmful substances

    • Eliminate concrete waste-to-landfill and reduce all other waste

    • Achieve Project recognition through verification by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s (ISI) Envision Rating System
