Overview:
Nachi is a worldwide manufacturer of innovative products: bearings, precision cutting tools, hydraulic equipment, machine tools, robots and high speed steel. KERAMIDA has provided full service environmental, health and safety compliance services to Nachi for several years in annual renewable contracts. The Scope of Services has included: quarterly EHS compliance audits and regulatory reviews, the development of SWPPP and SPCC Plans, Annual Compliance Certifications, Annual Industrial Hygiene Surveys, Quarterly Wastewater Sampling at two locations and Annual SW sampling and reporting.

On a quarterly basis KERAMIDA reviews all federal, state and local environmental regulatory changes and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Non-Rule Policy Document database for any changes that may impact the Nachi facilities. Also on a quarterly basis, KERAMIDA conducts a thorough assessment of environmental compliance at the facility located in Greenwood, Indiana. The quarterly assessment includes a site walk to determine consistency with permits and regulatory rules, regulations and guidelines, as well as a review and evaluation of the site permits to ensure compliance and assessment of the applicability of other permitting programs to determine if any new permits or compliance documents are required.
KERAMIDA also provides additional compliance services including:
Annual compliance certification for air permits
Quarterly stormwater inspections to evaluate the performance of the stormwater pollution prevention system, annual stormwater sampling and reporting, and review/update of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
Quarterly wastewater discharge sampling and analysis for two facilities and associated reporting
Annual reporting for Tier II and Form R reports
Other services include annual Industrial Hygiene and Indoor Air Quality Sampling.
Results are reported and summarized in comparison to previous years’ data such that improvements as well as concerns can be noted and addressed. KERAMIDA also provides ISO 14001 Support to assist Nachi in efforts to reduce its environmental impacts.
